This A1407 Thunderbolt model is designed to be used with MacBooks & iMacs from 2012-2015. 

This can be connected to the lastest USB-C Macs from 2016 onwards with a Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter.
